Strategies & Pro Tips

  • Know when to hold: A common heuristic is to hold when your turn points reach 20+ (adjust based on opponent’s score).
  • Play the score, not the die:
If you’re far ahead, play safe; if behind, take slightly bigger risks.
  • Endgame awareness: If a hold will put you at or above the target, don’t risk another roll.
  • Short targets, tighter holds:
  • With a target like 50, reduce your risk threshold (e.g., hold at ~12–15 points).

    Popular Variants

    • Two-Dice Pig: Roll two dice. If either shows 1, you bust; if both show 1, lose your entire total. Faster, riskier.
    • Big Pig: With two dice, doubles score double (except double 1s which wipe your total).
    • Custom Target: Play to 50 for short games or 150 for longer sessions (use the Target box above).
